WFS Tab Interface

WFS Tab Interface

Understand the WFS palette controls used to add services, fetch data, and manage imported WFS entities.

Interface Overview

The WFS section of the Web Maps tab manages WFS service definitions and the feature datasets selected from those services. After a service is added, the WFS palette workflow can fetch feature data and manage the imported CAD entities.

WFS Palette Workflow

The palette begins with the service list. Each service contains selected feature types. Palette actions then fetch vector data, zoom to extents, select imported objects, or remove imported WFS objects.

Modify WFS ServiceReopen the connection window for an existing service and update its URL, credentials, selected feature types, or options.
Fetch WFS DataDownload the selected WFS feature dataset and create CAD objects.
Zoom to Data ExtentsUse the WFS layer bounding information to zoom the CAD view to the server dataset extents.
Select Imported FeaturesSelect CAD objects that were created from the WFS layer.
Zoom to Imported FeaturesZoom the CAD view to the objects already imported from the WFS layer.
Remove Imported FeaturesDelete the CAD objects created from the selected WFS layer.
Remove ServiceRemove the WFS service entry from the palette.

WFS Result Tracking

SPCAD stores metadata on imported WFS entities and tracks the created object handles. This allows later palette actions to find the same imported objects for selection, zooming, refreshing, or removal.

Tracking is object-based.
If imported entities are manually erased or modified outside the WFS tools, some management actions may affect only the objects that still exist in the drawing.
