Overview
The Line & Arc Information in the SPCAD tool allows users to quickly inspect and verify detailed geometric and survey-related data for linear objects in CAD. It supports Lines, Polylines, 3D Polylines, and Arcs, providing formatted results directly in the command prompt.
Designed for surveyors, civil engineers, and CAD professionals, this tool provides rapid access to critical geometry information without modifying any drawing entities.
How It Works
After selecting an object, SPCAD analyzes its geometry and reports data directly in the command line. For polylines and 3D polylines, each segment is displayed individually, allowing thorough review of complex geometries. The command remains active, so multiple inquiries can be performed without restarting the tool.
Supported Objects
– Line
– Polyline
– 3D Polyline
– Arc
Reported Information
For Lines and Polyline Segments:
- Begin and End coordinates (X, Y)
- Distance
- Course (bearing in quadrant format)
For Arcs:
– Begin, End, and Radial Point coordinates
– PI (Point of Intersection)
– Chord length
– Tangent length
– Arc length
– Radius
– Delta angle
– Course

LINE DATA
Begin . . . . X: 13.2033 Y: 12.5005
End . . . . . X: 14.4185 Y: 12.8649

Notes
- The command is non-destructive and does not alter drawing geometry.
- Bearings are reported using survey-style quadrant notation.
- Output formatting is intended for survey and civil design review.
Benefits of Using Line & Arc Information in SPCAD
- Time-Saving – Quickly verify geometry without manual calculations.
- Accurate Surveying – Ensures precision for lines, arcs, and polylines.
- Non-Destructive – Your CAD drawings remain unchanged.
- Segment-Level Reporting – Provides detailed insights for complex polylines.
