WFS Import Options

WFS Import Options

Control how WFS vector features are converted into CAD points, polylines, polygons, labels, hatches, and attributes.

Import Options Overview

WFS uses the same geospatial import options workflow used by other SPCAD geospatial imports. This lets you control output layers, geometry handling, labeling, hatching, and attribute storage before the WFS features are created in CAD.

Options are applied to the selected WFS layer.
When fetching from the palette, review the settings for the active feature dataset before clicking OK.

Geometry Conversion

WFS GeometryTypical CAD Output
Point / MultiPointCAD point objects, point symbols, or configured point outputs depending on import settings.
LineString / MultiLineStringCAD polylines or linework.
Polygon / MultiPolygonClosed CAD polylines, optional centroids, and optional hatch fills.

Common Settings

SettingPurpose
Output layerControls the layer used for imported WFS CAD entities.
AttributesStores WFS feature attributes with imported CAD objects when enabled.
LabelsCreates text labels from a selected attribute field when label settings are enabled.
Hatch areasCreates hatch fills for polygon features when polygon hatch options are enabled.
ElevationUses the available Z values or configured elevation options for created entities.
Copy optionsApplies the current layer options to other selected layers where available.

Attributes and Data

When Attributes is enabled, WFS attributes are retained with the imported CAD entities. These attributes can be used for review, labeling, reporting, or downstream editing workflows.

Large attribute datasets can slow import.
For very large WFS layers, disable attributes or reduce the feature count if the first import is only for visual review.
