Common Export Workflow

Use the common export window for most vector formats such as Shapefile, GeoPackage, File Geodatabase, GML, GPX, GeoJSON, SQLite / DB, MapInfo TAB, and XYZ.

Overview

The common export workflow is used by most vector formats. It lets you choose the feature selection method, object types, attributes, and export options before selecting the output path.

Object Types
Attributes
Export Options

Configuration Sections

Complete each section, then click OK. SPCAD prompts for the output file and creates the selected export format.

SelectionAll features, on-screen objects, or selected layers
Object TypesPoints, blocks, text, lines, polygons, and curves
AttributesCAD properties, block data, text data, and geometry values
OptionsDTM records, split by geometry, and curve approximation

Steps

  1. Choose a vector format in the Select Export Format window.
  2. In the export options window, choose whether to export all features, selected objects, or features from selected layers.
  3. Select the CAD object types to include.
  4. Choose the attributes to write into the output file.
  5. Review export options such as DTM records, auto-split, and curve approximation step.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Choose the output file or output dataset path.
  8. Wait for the progress window to complete.

Important Notes

Curves are approximated where required.
Formats that do not support native CAD curves receive sampled line or polygon geometry. Use the curve approximation step to control smoothness and output size.
Check target format limitations.
Some target formats have stricter geometry or field-name rules. If necessary, enable auto-split by geometry type to create compatible output layers.
