WMS Tab Interface

Understand the WMS tree, service toggles, right-click menu, status line, and service-level actions in the SPCAD Palette.

Tab Layout

The WMS tab displays a short instruction at the top, a service tree in the middle, and a status line at the bottom. The root node is WMS Services. Added WMS services are displayed below the root node, and each service can show its selected layers as child items.

The top instruction reads: right-click WMS Services and choose Add. Each WMS service is listed as one service-level item. Use right-click on a service to view its layer info.

Service Toggles

TogglePurpose
Visibility bulbTurns the service image visibility on or off. The drawing image is not removed when visibility is turned off.
Auto refresh iconTurns auto refresh on or off for the selected service. When on, SPCAD can refresh the WMS image after pan or zoom.
Bring to front iconControls whether the WMS image should be kept in front of other raster display-order groups.

Right-Click Menu

Menu ItemDescription
AddAvailable from the root node. Opens the WMS connection window to add a new service.
ModifyEdits the selected service settings, selected layers, CRS, and image options.
Refresh ImageDownloads a new WMS image for the service, usually based on the current view.
Capture ImageCaptures the already-loaded WMS raster for the current view or a selected window.
Layer InfoShows stored layer names, CRS lists, and bounding boxes.
Feature InformationPrompts for a point and requests feature information from the WMS service.
Zoom to ExtentsLoads the full service extent and zooms to the WMS image.
Move Up / Move DownChanges the service order in the WMS tree and updates display order.
RemoveRemoves the WMS service and detaches its service image from the drawing.

Status Line

The status line reports the latest palette action, such as service added, service modified, image refreshed, capture cancelled, visibility changed, auto refresh changed, or service removed.
