Import Raster Images
Insert georeferenced raster images into the drawing using the image file and its world file.
Overview
Raster image import supports common image formats such as BMP, JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, ECW, and SID. The image must have a matching world file so SPCAD can calculate the insertion point, scale, rotation, and extents.
World Files
| Image Type | World File Candidates |
|---|---|
| BMP | .bpw, .bmpw, .wld |
| JPG / JPEG | .jgw, .jpgw, .jpegw, .wld |
| PNG | .pgw, .pngw, .wld |
| TIF / TIFF | .tfw, .tifw, .tiffw, .wld |
| GIF | .gfw, .gifw, .wld |
| ECW | .eww, .ecww, .wld |
| SID | .sdw, .sidw, .wld |
Import Steps
- Place the world file in the same folder as the image.
- Run
IMPORTGEO_SP. - Select File and choose the raster image filter.
- Select the image file.
- Click OK.
After successful import, SPCAD inserts the raster and zooms to the image extents.
Common Raster Issues
World file required.
If no matching world file is found, SPCAD reports that the world file was not found and does not place the raster.
