Import XYZ Points

Import XYZ Points

Import XYZ point files where each row represents a point coordinate.

Overview

XYZ files are used for point data where records typically contain X, Y, and Z values. SPCAD treats XYZ as point-oriented geospatial data.

Import Steps

  1. Run IMPORTGEO_SP.
  2. Select File and choose the XYZ Points filter.
  3. Select the .xyz file.
  4. Review the detected point layer and transformation settings.
  5. Configure point, layer, elevation, label, and output options.
  6. Click OK.

Tips

Use XYZ import when the file already contains coordinate triples. Use CSV/TXT import when the file contains named columns or additional tabular attributes.
