Before You Start
Prepare the drawing, CRS, object selection, and output location before exporting geospatial data.
Requirements
Before running EXPORTGEO_SP, confirm that the drawing is ready for geospatial export.
| Requirement | Description |
|---|---|
| SPCAD license | The Export Geospatial Data command requires access to the SPCAD export feature. |
| Drawing objects | The drawing must contain CAD objects in model space. If no objects are found, SPCAD stops the export command. |
| Assigned CRS | The drawing must have a coordinate system assigned so exported data can be written with correct geospatial reference information. |
| Supported object types | Choose object types that are meaningful for the selected output format, such as points, blocks, text, lines, polylines, arcs, circles, ellipses, splines, hatches, or raster images. |
| Output location | Choose a folder where SPCAD can create the output file or output dataset. Some formats create more than one file. |
Coordinate system required
If the drawing has no CRS assigned, SPCAD displays a Coordinate System Not Assigned message and opens the coordinate system assignment workflow before export can continue.Recommended Preparation
- Clean the drawing and remove objects that should not be exported.
- Place export-ready objects on logical CAD layers.
- Check that object elevations are correct if the target format should receive Z values.
- Decide whether the export should include all objects, selected objects, or only objects from specific layers.
- Decide whether attributes such as layer, color, handle, block data, text contents, geometry, or DTM records should be included.
