Import Troubleshooting

Resolve common messages and problems in the SPCAD geospatial import workflow.

Common Messages and Fixes

Message or IssueRecommended Fix
Coordinate System Not AssignedAssign a CRS to the drawing, then run the import command again.
Please select a geospatial source.Browse to a file or File Geodatabase folder before clicking OK.
The selected file does not exist.Check the file path and make sure the file is available.
Please select a File Geodatabase folder with .gdb extension.Select the File Geodatabase folder itself, not a file inside it.
No spatial layers were found.Confirm that the source contains spatial geometry and that all companion files are present.
No layers were selected.Select at least one layer or feature class in the import window.
CSD.exe was not found.Check the SPCAD installation and the configured CSD runtime path.
Feature export failed.Verify the source file is readable, not locked, and supported by the selected format workflow.
World file was not found.Place the correct world file in the same folder as the raster image.
Trial Mode Limit AppliedThe trial version imported only a limited preview. Use the full version to import all selected features.

Imported Data Appears in the Wrong Location

  • Confirm the drawing CRS is correct.
  • Confirm the source CRS is correct or included with the file.
  • Keep Transform features to drawing CRS enabled when source and drawing CRS differ.
  • For raster images, confirm the world file matches the selected image.

Attributes Are Missing

Enable Create table in Data Table Manager before import when feature attributes need to be retained as table records.
