Image as KMZ Export
Export selected raster image references as a Google Earth KMZ overlay.
Overview
Image as KMZ exports georeferenced raster image references from the drawing into a KMZ file. This workflow is for raster image objects, not vector CAD objects.
Steps
- Run
EXPORTGEO_SP. - Select Image as KMZ and click OK.
- Select the raster image or raster images in the drawing.
- Choose the output
.kmzfile path. - Wait while SPCAD reads the drawing CRS, collects the selected image georeferencing, and creates the KMZ.
- When prompted, open the output in Google Earth if required.
Image Requirements
| Requirement | Description |
|---|---|
| Raster image reference | The drawing must contain CAD raster image objects. |
| Valid image source | The image source file should be available so the KMZ can package or reference it correctly. |
| Georeferencing | The image placement and drawing CRS are used to build the Google Earth overlay. |
No raster images selected
If no raster image objects are selected, SPCAD writes a message and the Image as KMZ export stops.
