Manage WFS Layers and Imported Features
Use palette actions to select, zoom, refresh, and remove WFS features after they have been imported into CAD.
Management Overview
After WFS data is fetched, SPCAD stores WFS metadata on the created CAD entities and keeps a list of imported object handles. This makes it possible to manage the imported dataset from the WFS palette.
Management depends on tracked entities.
If imported objects are manually deleted, locked, or moved to another drawing, only the remaining tracked objects can be managed by the WFS tools.Available Management Actions
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Select Imported Features | Selects the CAD entities that were created from the selected WFS layer. |
| Zoom to Imported Features | Calculates the extents of existing imported entities and zooms the CAD view to them. |
| Remove Imported Features | Deletes the existing imported CAD entities for the selected WFS layer. |
| Refresh Imported Features | Downloads the WFS data again and replaces previously tracked objects when refresh/replace is used. |
| Zoom to Data Extents | Zooms to the WFS dataset extents from the server, even before the data is imported. |
Remove Imported Features
Use remove when you no longer need the WFS features in the drawing or before importing the same dataset with different options. SPCAD deletes the tracked CAD entities associated with the selected WFS layer.
Remove deletes CAD objects.
This action removes imported WFS CAD entities from the drawing. It does not delete data from the remote WFS server.Refresh Strategy
| Situation | Recommended Action |
|---|---|
| Server data changed | Refresh the WFS layer to download updated features. |
| Wrong import settings | Remove or refresh the layer after changing import options. |
| Only need to inspect existing entities | Use Select Imported Features or Zoom to Imported Features. |
| Need full server coverage | Disable Current View Only before fetching, or zoom to data extents first. |
