Export GeoPDF

Create a georeferenced PDF that can be opened in compatible PDF and GIS tools.

Overview

GeoPDF export writes CAD drawing data to .pdf output.

GeoPDF uses its own options window. Define the output PDF, map area, page settings, object types, and whether objects should be clipped to the map extent.

GeoPDF uses a map area
GeoPDF export uses a map area as its spatial selector. Object type filters determine what is eligible, and the map extent determines the exported coverage.

Steps

  1. Run EXPORTGEO_SP or click Spatial Data > Export.
  2. Select GeoPDF in the Select Export Format window.
  3. Complete the format-specific options window.
  4. Choose the output path when prompted.
  5. Wait for the progress window to finish.
  6. Open the output in the target application and review the exported data.

Best Practices

  • Confirm the drawing CRS before export.
  • Use layer-based selection when layers already represent logical GIS layers.
  • Keep only the required object types enabled.
  • Use the curve approximation step carefully for curved geometry.
  • Review the exported file in the receiving application before delivery.
