Import Window Layout
Understand the main multi-layer import window used by Shapefile, GeoPackage, File Geodatabase, GeoJSON, GPX, SQLite, MapInfo, and other vector sources.
Window Layout
The Import Geospatial Data window is used after SPCAD reads the source information. It shows the available layers or feature classes on the left and the settings for the selected layer on the right.
Layer list on the left, source and geometry settings on the right.
Main Sections
| Section | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Layers / Feature Classes | Select which layers or feature classes will be imported. |
| Source | Shows source name, format, geometry type, and CRS transformation status. |
| Output Options | Controls whether attributes are tracked in the Data Table Manager. |
| Geometry Settings | Shows point, polyline, or polygon options based on the selected layer geometry. |
| Layer Properties | Controls whether imported objects use a fixed drawing layer or a layer name from an attribute field. |
| Elevation | Lets numeric attributes be used as object elevations. |
| Label Features | Creates CAD text labels from a selected attribute field. |
Copy Options to All Layers
Use Copy current options to all layers when several layers need the same layer, elevation, label, or output settings.
Review geometry differences.
Copying options is convenient, but point, polyline, and polygon layers expose different geometry settings. Review each layer after copying options.
