These tiles add real-world background context to your CAD data, making your outputs more readable, spatially accurate, and visually meaningful. The tool enforces a download limit of <strong>1000 tiles for trial users<\/strong> and <strong>2000 for licensed users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Workflow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1- Assign Coordinate System<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start by assigning a <strong>projected coordinate system<\/strong> to your drawing. Without it, the tiles cannot be positioned correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2- Launch the Tool<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To access the tool:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <strong>Coordinate System \u2192 Online Maps \u2192 Download Web Map Tiles<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or type the command GNM_SP in the command line<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3- Select Area to Fetch Tiles<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll be prompted to define the area for tile download. Two options are available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Window<\/strong> \u2013 Draw a rectangular area directly on your drawing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Polygon<\/strong> \u2013 Select an already drawn closed polyline to fetch tiles within that shape<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once selected, the tool dialog opens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tile Source Options<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the dialog box, you\u2019ll see a list of available basemap providers categorized as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"318\" height=\"613\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cadomation.com\/spcad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3964\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.cadomation.com\/spcad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2.png 318w, https:\/\/help.cadomation.com\/spcad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2-156x300.png 156w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 318px) 100vw, 318px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1- <strong>ESRI<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aerial<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shaded Relief<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Street Map<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Topographic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2- Google<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hybrid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roadmap<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Satellite<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Terrain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3- OpenStreetMap<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Standard OSM map view<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you make your selection, a live map view in the center of the dialog updates in real time to reflect your area and chosen source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Resolution Settings<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are 5 levels of resolution available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Very Low<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Low<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Medium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Very High<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Higher resolutions result in more tiles and longer download times. The <strong>Total Tiles<\/strong> counter updates as you adjust resolution or area.<strong><br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Retake Options<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re not satisfied with your area selection, use the <strong>Retake<\/strong> section:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Redraw the area using <strong>Window<\/strong>, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose another <strong>Polygon<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This ensures you have full control over what you&#8217;re about to fetch.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Download Tiles<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before clicking <strong>Download<\/strong>, select an output folder and assign a clear name for your tiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For each tile downloaded, SPCAD generates three files:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>.png<\/strong> image<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>.xml<\/strong> metadata<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>.pgw <\/strong>georeferencing file<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"130\" height=\"77\" src=\"https:\/\/help.cadomation.com\/spcad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3967\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make sure your file name is easy to identify later, especially if downloading in parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Download Process<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you hit <strong>Download<\/strong>, SPCAD performs the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fetches the tiles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mosaics them into a single image<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clips the image to match your selected area<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p tiles<\/strong>, the longer the wait.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can cancel anytime and retry with a lower resolution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Licensed users<\/strong> can download up to <strong>2000 tiles<\/strong> per session<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Trial users<\/strong> are limited to <strong>1000 tiles<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For larger areas, divide your drawing and fetch tiles in smaller sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After downloading in parts, use the <strong>Mosaic Images (MOSAIC_SP)<\/strong> tool to combine everything into a single clean image without overloading your drawing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Notes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Works only with projected coordinate systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ideal for layout plans, base maps, terrain references, or any spatial design task where visual context is required.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tips<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To reduce tile count and processing time, use <strong>medium resolution<\/strong> for larger extents and <strong>high resolution<\/strong> for zoomed-in areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make use of the <strong>Retake<\/strong> option to refine your area selection without restarting. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use <strong>Mosaic Images<\/strong> tool post-download for efficient tile management and cleaner
