Overview<\/strong> <\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Point Group Manager<\/strong> in SPCAD<\/strong> is an intuitive and feature-rich interface for managing collections of CAD points\u2014commonly used in surveying, surface modeling, and design workflows. Whether you’re organizing points, editing elevations, extracting from drawings, or exporting to standard GIS\/CAD formats, this tool provides a streamlined experience in one place. <\/p>\n\n\n

Key Components at a Glance<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The top ribbon includes five main sections, each grouping key functionalities: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Manage<\/strong>: \n
      \n
    • Create new point groups, modify existing ones, or merge multiple groups into a single point group. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. Edit<\/strong>:\n
          \n
        • Open a detailed Point Editor<\/strong> to modify point attributes. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Use Change Elevation<\/strong> to apply bulk elevation transformations on all points in the point group. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Add Points<\/strong> \n
            \n
          • Populate point groups via: \n
              \n
            • Manual selection from the drawing. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Importing from external files. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Drawing points on-screen. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Extracting from CAD geometry like lines, arcs, and polylines. <\/li>\n\n\n\n

                          Point Groups Panel<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                          At the top-left, the Point Groups (2)<\/strong> header displays the current number of point groups existing in the drawing. The panel below lists them with intuitive controls: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                          • Zoom<\/strong> \u2013 Focus the CAD view on the selected point group.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • Visibility Toggle<\/strong> \u2013 Turn the group display on or off.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • Delete<\/strong> \u2013 Remove the point group from the drawing and session.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                            Point Group Info Panel<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                            When a point group is selected, detailed information is displayed below: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                            • Name<\/strong>, Scale<\/strong>, and Number of Points<\/strong> <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • Elevation Statistics<\/strong>: Minimum and Maximum Elevations <\/li>\n\n\n\n
