Why Shrink-wrap is Needed in CAD?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

In CAD, creating a precise boundary around a set of points is essential for various design and analysis tasks. The “Shrink-wrap” tool, which generates a boundary around selected points, addresses this need effectively. This tool is especially useful in scenarios where you need to define the extents of a dataset, such as when creating site plans, defining areas for analysis, or simplifying complex geometries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Access the Tool<\/strong>
    Next, go to the Analysis panel, navigate to the \u2018Draw\u2019 dropdown, and select “Shrink-wrap.” Alternatively, you can type SHRINKWRAP_SP in the command prompt to access the tool directly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select the Points<\/strong>
    Now, the cursor will prompt you to select the objects (points) you want to include in the boundary. Select the points and press ENTER to proceed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Adjust the Boundary Tightness<\/strong>
    A slider will appear, allowing you to set the tightness of the boundary. The values range from 0.05 to 1.0. A very tight boundary is achieved at 0.05, while moving towards 1.0 creates a looser boundary. Choose the desired level of tightness based on your project needs and click OK.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Result<\/strong>
    The tool will then create a boundary around the selected points, reflecting the tightness setting you chose. This boundary will closely follow the configuration of the points, either tightly or loosely, as specified.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
