SPCAD Merge Polygons – Why Merge Polygons in CAD?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In CAD, the “Merge Polygon” tool is crucial for combining overlapping or adjacent polygons into a single, cohesive shape. This tool simplifies the design process by reducing the number of individual shapes, thereby making it easier to manage and analyze complex structures. Moreover, the “Merge Polygon” tool combines two or more polygons into an existing feature or unions them into a new polygon. It is specifically designed to merge overlapping or adjacent closed objects of the same elevation.<\/p>\n\n\n

How to Use the SPCAD Merge Polygon Tool?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

  1. Access the Tool<\/strong>
    First, go to the Analysis panel and navigate to the \u2018Draw<\/strong>\u2019 dropdown, where you will find the “Merge Polygon” tool. Alternatively, you can type MPG_SP <\/strong>in the command prompt to access the tool directly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select the Polygons<\/strong>
    To begin, select the overlapping or adjacent polygons you want to merge. Make sure the polygons are closed and of the same elevation. Once you have made your selection, press Enter to proceed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Choose to Delete Source<\/strong>
    Next, choose whether to delete the original source polygons. Click YES to delete them after merging, or click NO to keep the source polygons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Result<\/strong>
    If you click YES, the process deletes the source polygons. On the other hand, if you click NO, the merged polygon appears above the original source polygons.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
