This tool simplifies the design process by reducing the number of individual shapes, thereby making it easier to manage and analyze complex structures. Moreover, the “Merge Polygon” tool combines two or more polygons into an existing feature or unions them into a new polygon. It is specifically designed to merge overlapping or adjacent closed objects of the same elevation.

How to Use the SPCAD Merge Polygon Tool?

Access the Tool
First, go to the Analysis panel and navigate to the ‘Draw’ dropdown, where you will find the “Merge Polygon” tool. Alternatively, you can type MPG_SP in the command prompt to access the tool directly.

Select the Polygons
To begin, select the overlapping or adjacent polygons you want to merge. Make sure the polygons are closed and of the same elevation. Once you have made your selection, press Enter to proceed.

Choose to Delete Source
Next, choose whether to delete the original source polygons. Click YES to delete them after merging, or click NO to keep the source polygons.

Result
If you click YES, the process deletes the source polygons. On the other hand, if you click NO, the merged polygon appears above the original source polygons.

Tips for Effective Use

Ensure Proper Selection
Make sure the polygons you want to merge are either overlapping or adjacent. The tool will not work if the polygons are not properly positioned relative to each other.

Maintaining Elevation
Verify that the polygons have the same elevation before attempting to merge them. This ensures a smooth merging process and accurate results.

By using the “Merge Polygon” tool in SPCAD, you can efficiently combine multiple polygons, thereby enhancing the organization and manageability of your CAD drawings.

["post-1722","docs","type-docs","status-publish","hentry

Merge Polygons in SPCAD | Cadomation

<meta name="description" content="Learn how to use the "Merge Polygons" tool in SPCAD to efficiently combine overlapping or adjacent polygons.
